HeartLab’s 1,000-square-foot main room is a blank canvas for connection and creativity. With soft lighting, high ceilings, and beautiful natural textures, it’s equally suited for workshops, performances, retreats, sound healings, or dance events. The space can comfortably hold up to 60 guests filling the different areas, offering flexibility for gatherings both intimate and expansive.

Affectionately known as the “Cuddle Couch” this large daybed area is the heart of HeartLab. It can seat up to 15 people and doubles as a stage for performances or ceremonies. Draped in colorful pillows and soft fabrics, it’s a perfect nook for conversation, connection, or cozy community moments.

The daybed converts easily into a raised stage. Just remove the top mattresses and pillows to reveal the platform.

Couches + chairs provide comfortable back seating
Performers can use our 4 high-quality folding chairs
We also offer mics, stands, and hands-free options for presenters, musicians, breathwork leaders, or anyone who needs to move freely.

Above the main floor, our lofted nook offers a more intimate setting for small group conversations, private healing sessions, or one-on-one meetings. It’s a quiet corner away from the energy of the main room — ideal for reflection, rest, or deeper connection.

The kitchenette makes hosting easy and comfortable with a mini fridge, microwave and kitchen supplies. Whether you’re setting up refreshments for a workshop or preparing snacks for a longer retreat, it’s a functional and welcoming addition to your event.

Guests are welcomed into HeartLab with warmth and intention. The entry lounge and tea station create an immediate sense of arrival — a place to slow down, make a cup of tea, and connect before stepping into the main space. It sets the tone for the grounded, heart-centered experience ahead.

Our clean and elegant bathroom is conveniently located near the main event area for guests’ ease and comfort throughout your event. It’s also stocked with feminine products, hand lotion, rosewater spray and eucalyptus hand sanitizer.
Please note: There is one bathroom, so plan breaks or transitions accordingly for larger groups.

Located in the vibrant Mission District of San Francisco, HeartLab is surrounded by art, culture, and community. We’re easily accessible by public transit, close to great cafes and restaurants, and nestled in one of the city’s most beloved neighborhoods.

HeartLab offers hourly, full-day, and full-weekend rates.
$200 base weekday rental for 2 hrs, $260 for 3 hrs, $300 for full evening 6:30-10:30pm
$100 an hour for weekend rentals (minimum 3 hrs)
$800 for full day rental Friday Saturday or Sunday
To reserve your date, we require a 50% deposit.
What Is Included in the Rental Fee?
Full access to the entire space
All furniture, supplies, and equipment listed above
Mood lighting options
Use of the projector and screen
Use of both audio systems
Cleaning and reset after your event (unless extraordinary cleanup is required)
You may also add HeartLab support staff to help with setup/breakdown — especially helpful for performances, sound checks, or detailed staging.
Support staff is available at $35/hour.
An additional 30-minute setup and breakdown time is included on both ends of your rental hours, 1 hr offered for performances that require the stage set-up.

HeartLab is equipped with options for surround sound Sonos speakers, high quality Electrolux speakers for the stage or DJ performances and diverse lighting options to create the perfect atmosphere. We also have a projector available for workshops, film nights, or presentations, plus optional silent disco headphones for late-night gatherings.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations made less than 21 days from the event date will forfeit the deposit. At our discretion, events that are rescheduled may transfer the deposit to the new date.
Space Access Times
Your booking includes setup and cleanup time (30 minutes before and after your event, 1 hr if set up requires use of the stage). Please plan accordingly if additional time is needed.
Food & Drink Policy
Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. Food may not be eaten on the daybed, and should be easy bite sized options rather than plated meals that may cause a mess. Plates must be provided for hors d'oeuvres type foods. The main rug should be rolled up if folks would like to eat in that area. No food is allowed on the daybed. Please put all food on the folding table in the entry way area for serving.
Alcohol may be served only with prior approval and compliance with local regulations, and cannot be sold. Please choose light colored beverages to eliminate the chance of stains.
Any stains or damage will be charged a cleaning fee.
Kids Policy
Because the HeartLab living room is so filled with curated pieces and breakables, we are not a kid friendly space, and ask that kids under 12 years old stay at home. If a couple of younger kids might need to be in the space, they must be heavily supervised and managed, and the facilitator is responsible for any damages.
No Shoes
Please make sure guests remove their shoes and put them in the cubby area with their items.
Noise Policies
The San Francisco noise ordinance requires people to be quiet from 10 p.m. to 7 am. We have an agreement with the upstairs neighbor that the music needs to be please turned down to a chill level at 10pm on weekdays, and 11pm on weekends. HeartLab is not a good place for loud, late parties.
After 11 pm, you’re welcome to switch to Silent Disco and dance as late into the morning as you’d like.
Fire Safety Policies
Please do not burn real candles for fire safety.
Incense, Paulo Santo, Sage etc. are alright as long as they are managed by the host and put in the incense holder bowl on the alter to be put out.
Leave No Trace
No Perfume/Cologne and any items that shed (glitter, feather boas, make sure to do an extra vacuum round 🙂)

Does HeartLab Host Public and Private Events?
Yes. HeartLab welcomes both community-facing public events and private gatherings (birthdays, celebrations, ceremonies, off-sites, workshops, etc).
Do I Need Rental Insurance?
HeartLab does not require rental insurance for most events.
If you are a practitioner or facilitator, we do recommend having your own general liability insurance to support your professional work.
